This is what I created after making brushes in Photoshop. Music is one of the ways I made the most friends, and I've been playing the flute since sixth grade. When I graduated to high school I joined marching band and that's where the majority of the friends I have now came from. Band is basically my life, and its really fun being able to go to competitions with all of your friends.
This was my attempt at creating a self portrait on an Ipad. I chose to do it in a cartoon-ish art style, although I based it off of a real picture of me. The only problems I had while doing this was trying to blend the highlights and shadows in with the rest of the picture. I also had trouble drawing the hands, and had difficulty getting the thickness of the brush right in some areas.
If I could do this again I would like to try it in a realistic style. I would also try to blend the colors better, and fill in the spots that I missed or messed up. I would also like to add some textures to it if I ever did another one.
For this project, I did something a little different. Instead of picking a 2D cartoon character, I chose a three dimensional video game character. I chose to do a scene from the game Assassin's Creed. Most of the skills I used to do this project were similar to those of the Clone project.
The most difficult things to do with this project was to find a good pose to actually use as a picture, and it was hard to find a good picture of the character I wanted to use.
My inspiration for this was the Dorton arena. Many of the logos I looked up featured ferris wheels and I wanted to do something other than that. The most difficult thing about creating the logo was trying to use the pen tool to create curves. Making all of the white lines spaced apart and line up with everything was difficult too.
My inspiration for this piece was mixing predator and prey. I created it the way I did because I thought it would be easier trying to incorporate a zebra's stripes on a cougar then trying to move parts of the cougar over to the zebra. The problems I came across were mostly trying to get the stripes to line up on the cougars body. The other problem was trying to find a spot to put the zebra's mane on the cougar.
If I were to do this project again I would pick a different animal to be the prey (maybe a tiger). It would be much easier to find an animal that already had stripes, that way it would be easier to blend the two animals together. I would also try to find more ways to incorporate the zebra and cougar, and find a way to blend the stripes and mane in better. I would also change the zebra to an animal that didn't have as many patterns.
